Sue Nichol
Sue Nichol is an artist based in Sheffield. She was born in Hartlepool and spent most of her weekends as a child exploring rock pools on the beaches of the North East coast, or walking on the North Yorkshire Moors with her father.
Sue's experience and memories of living and growing up in Hartlepool has inspired Sue to create beautiful coastal landscape paintings. In order to capture the photographs that she uses as starting points for her compositions, Sue regularly takes to the sea in an offshore kayak; her paintings are typically of places she knows well and visits regularly. She is an artist that loves to capture the textures and atmosphere of the land and sea.
