Lisa- marie Newman
Lisa-marie claims to have always been "arty-farty" and chose to follow an education in art, craft and design culminating in a B.A. (hons) in History of Art and later, a career as an Art teacher. She has taught Art & Design, Design & Technology, Graphic Design, Textiles and Art History as well as dabbling in many areas in her own artistic endeavours. Although she continues to skip from project to project "like an exciteable child", polymer clay animals have always been the one constant in her artistic output.
Lisa-marie has been making animals from polymer clay since the age of 11 when she was bought a 'Fimo' project pack for Christmas. The first thing she made was a plump little piggy, quickly followed by a variety of other brightly coloured animal characters but the piggies have always remained her favourite and are now her most adapted range of figures.
"I get a great deal of enjoyment out of making Giggles and thinking up new models. I still get a kick out adding the eyes, which I do last of all to complete their individual character".
